Predefined Colors
The book HTML Black Book by Steven Holzner (ISBN 1-57610-617-9, published in 2000) provides three tables of colors:
- Colors recognized by browsers
- Predefined colors in Internet Explorer
- Predefined colors in Netscape Navigator
Since then, there have been new browsers introduced and numerous advances made in existing browsers. There are quite a few pages on the Internet that provide a visual list of predefined colors. You can see links to many of them at the bottom of this page. The chart below provides a visual list based on Steven Holzner’s book.
