Galleries can be organized into albums to present multiple groups of images to your visitors.
[album=id,mode]
id= the ID of the album (e.g. 1).
mode(extendorcompact) = options for how tod display the gallery; extend displays each gallery in the album on its own row with its description; compact displays multiple galleries per row without descriptions. This parameter is optional.
The album shortcode displays the galleries in an album on the page. Galleries appear in the order in which they are placed on the album admin page. There are two album views available. In both views the image selected for the gallery on the gallery’s admin page is displayed. If none is selected, no image is displayed.
Extended view
In the extended view (mode = extend), galleries are displayed on separate rows. Each row consists of the title listed above, the gallery image selected on the admin page for the gallery, the description of the gallery specified on the admin page for the gallery, and the number of photos in the gallery.
[album=#,extend]
Compact view
In the compact view (mode = compact), multiple galleries are displayed on each row in the style of Flickr. Each row consists of as many galleries as will fit. Each gallery is displayed as a column with the gallery image on top, the gallery title in the middle, and the count of photos below that.
[album=#,compact]
Displaying Contents of a Gallery
To display the contents of a gallery, simply click on the gallery title or on the gallery image. If the Deactivate gallery page link option on the Gallery options page is checked, the contents of the gallery will be displayed on the same page.
If the option is unchecked, make sure you have selected a page that displays the gallery (i.e. specifies the gallery shortcode with the ID of the gallery) or the page will simply refresh.
Wishlist / Caveats
- It would be nice to have a default image displayed if no image is specified on the gallery’s admin page.
- If the gallery is not associated with a page and the Deactivate gallery page link option on the Gallery options page is unchecked, the page refreshes and the contents of the gallery is not displayed. It would be preferable to behave as if the checkbox is actually checked.
- It would be nice if gallery parameters could be specified to albums. You’ll notice on this page that when you click on the gallery in one album that both are expanded.
- It would be nice if the number of galleries displayed horizontally could be specified when using compact mode rather than just relying on HTML formatting.

Olá, o album funciona perfeitamente, porém as imagens são exibidas lá em baixo no rodapé do site
May 27th, 2008 at 6:54 pm
I don’t get it… you say to add: [ album=id,mode ] to the page yet when I peruse your html it doesn’t appear at all. I only see a bunch of claas= somengg_descriptor. So, where would i add [ album=id, mode ]? In a post? And then all these class= appear in the ’source view’ of the browser?
Thanks for any enlightenment,
Rick
May 28th, 2008 at 12:19 am
@Rick: Great question. The shortcode doesn’t appear in the resulting HTML. Instead, you place it in your post or page body text. When your post or page is displayed, the NextGEN Gallery plugin translates it into the appropriate output.
Does that help?

May 29th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
@Conrex: Ah, I see the problem. I use spaces after the opening square bracket and before the closing square bracket so that the plugin won’t try to translate it. However, when you add it to the body of the text you have to remove the spaces. I’ll try to put together some images that better show what it looks like. Sorry for the confusion.
May 30th, 2008 at 7:33 am
Please also note for clarity that your can not haver a space after the comma. ie, [album=1, compact] will not work but [album=1,compact] will work.
May 30th, 2008 at 8:34 am
hmm… i tried with and without those spaces within those brackets but it doesn’t work i think i realy need some screenshot but again thanks for your help

I just started using Next Gen Gallery. How do I get the description to be at the side of the thumbnail instead of displaying after the thumbnail?
June 22nd, 2008 at 6:56 pm
My albums won’t show up in a row. It’ll only appear below the previous one. I noticed in my source code that it is adding a ngg-clear div tag in between each album instead of only at the end of the last one as it is on other pages…
June 30th, 2008 at 3:05 am
I’m getting no Thumbnail image for the Album.
I went to the Manage Gallery Page, but dont see an option to set a image as album cover.
June 30th, 2008 at 10:21 am
@MamaTang – To get the description to show at the side of the thumbnail, you need to specify extend for the mode (e.g. album=#,extend).
@Rob – To have your albums show up in a row, you need to specify compact for the mode (e.g. album=#,compact).
@Marshall – On the Manage Gallery page, the control for setting the image for the album is in the upper right of the page underneath the control for setting/creating a page to display the album. Let me know if you still can’t find it. I should try to post some screen shots.

First of all, thank you for this documentation, the ultime website I needed for customizing my NextGen gallery.
While reading those posts, I am wondering: how do you manage the Table of Contents shared by several posts? (manually or with a plugin?)
July 31st, 2008 at 9:55 am
Thanks Fabien. The table of contents is generated by the In Series plugin. There is a link to it on the Installed Plugins page.

Hi David,
I am trying to use the album, but it behaves weird. Firstly, the enclosing boxes are too big. Also when I click on the album image, all that happens is the browser goes to the top of the page. I can’t figure why this happens.
Any help will be appreciated
Thanks
August 14th, 2008 at 7:40 am
sorry I forgot to post the url of the offending page in my earlier post. Here it is:
http://shri.co.uk/gallery
August 14th, 2008 at 9:27 am
@Ashish – When I visit that page (using IE7, FF2, Safari on Windows, and Opera) and click on one of the galleries, it displays the contents of the gallery correctly. Did you already fix this?
August 15th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
@MamaTang: Go to Manage Gallery and pick a gallery that you want to work with and click “Edit” on the far right side. Click on the arrow next to “Gallery Settings” to expand the settings box. Fill in the description box with whatever you like. If you want a preview image, select one from the “Preview Image” drop down list to the right. Click “Save Changes”. In your post, make sure you have your album correctly listed in the post “[album=ID,extend]” without quotes. Save or Publish and you should be good to go.
Take Care,
SWH

By the way, Dave, moderator is spelled incorrectly. I noticed this when I saw my comment and the text stating, “Your comment waits for approval by a modorator.” Replace the second o with an e and you are golden.
Thanks for the great work. I am new to the blogosphere and still deciding if I am going to use WP full time as a CMS or if I might jump to Joomla. Since I am not a programmer and have very rudimentary understanding of code I am not sure what I will do. Your site was a life saver and is bookmarked.
August 15th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
@Shawn – Thanks for the heads-up (I hadn’t done a complete pass through the theme when I deployed it) and thanks for commenting
I haven’t looked at Joomla, but what I can say about WordPress is that there is an incredible community surrounding it which means I don’t have to create everything for each site I deploy. I suppose I should look at Joomla, though, just to be aware of what else is out there.

Hello David,
A great site, great and useful tutorials, many thanks for that. It cleared quite a lot of my questions, but I still have one. As I have quite a lot of pictures (and I mean really a lot :D) using just 2 levels for arranging them is not really enough (level 1 – gallery, level 2 – album of galleries).
The question I have – is it possible to make albums of albums? That would be for me the absolute feature
I tried to simulate this on my web-site directly from the code, but it gets harder and harder
Is it something that I am missing, or this feature just doesn’t exist?
Thanks again for all the info found on your site
October 1st, 2008 at 10:30 am
Wow, I had the hardest time figuring out how to get a thumbnail image to show up on the album page. I read through some of the previous comments and still wasn’t able to get it to work. The arrow on the upper left corner probably isn’t the best place to put a button and I’m sure others had the same issue as me (I hope). Great plugin btw.
October 27th, 2008 at 6:07 am
Hey David…thanks for the site…it’s a great help.
Could you give me an example of what you mean when you say:
If the option is unchecked, make sure you have selected a page that displays the gallery (i.e. specifies the gallery shortcode with the ID of the gallery) or the page will simply refresh.
I don’t understand what the gallery shortcode and ID should look like. Where does it go in the post/page? Does it go in the [album=1,extend] brackets somewhere? For now…I’m just cycling back to my photos page when I click on the album. thanks for your help!
October 30th, 2008 at 5:46 am
hey.. I have problem..
I write [album=1,compact] this, but it show as text, and no album are coming up…
nothing..
what should i do….?

Hm, ok. ive got it
But it dont show any picture(in the album frame) when ive listed the albums
do you know what i meen?

October 30th, 2008 at 9:05 am
Hello David,
I have a peculiar problem which I can’t sort out.
If you click an image from your gallery above you see all the pictures in the slide show (Image 8 of 16). I only see the pictures on that page, even if the galley has more. I have to move to the next page to see the next batch.
Is it something I did or something I don’t know.
regards
October 30th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
@jeanett I am having the same problem that when i type in the text it just outputs the text and not the album. What did you do to fix the problem?
October 31st, 2008 at 8:04 am
Jeanett how did you get your problem fixed with it showing up as the gallery and not just the test you entered.
November 1st, 2008 at 8:26 am
@Dustin
I had the same problem. Make sure that you have the text written exactly as mentioned above. I had “extended” instead of “extend” which was causing my problem.
@All
My album is showing up correctly in extend mode, but I don’t see a thumbnail image and instead have a text link that says “Watch Album”. I don’t see where to change this.
November 1st, 2008 at 8:33 am
Nevermind, I figured it out. For others, go to your gallery’s edit page and expand the “Gallery Settings” section. In there, choose a preview image from the drop down menu. Problem solved.
November 1st, 2008 at 11:56 pm
I have everything typed correctly but still nothing is showing up.
November 4th, 2008 at 7:27 am
For those confused few like myself:
I’ve been trying to figure out why that when I use [album=#,extend] in a page or post that even though the thumbnails appear as they should, their links would just refresh/return the same page.
ANSWER: In order for the thumbnails and titles to link to their respective galley, the gallery itself has to have a “Page Link to” other than “Not Linked”… doh!
Hope this helps someone.
BTW, that “doh” is for me.

November 5th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
Another question for everyone, i have the gallery working correctly but i am wanting to implement something where the pictures will display in browser. The display where the picture enlargers in the middle and the rest of the screen fades to black and then you can click for the next picture.
November 10th, 2008 at 2:01 am
To select the thumbnail for your album, go here:
Manage Album -> Edit -> Click on the left arrow beside the Gallery Setting. From there select row Description for the drop down menu.
It wasn’t easy looking for this little fella. Hope it helps someone.

David,
Please help me modify the typo from Manage Album -> Edit to Manage Gallery -> Edit on my previous comment.
Thanks.

Hello! Happy New Year’s Eve! I’ve run across some difficulty when trying to use the “album” option (extend OR compact.) It shows as [Album not found]. I’ve tried using gallery, singlepic, etc. and they all seem to work fine. But I would prefer to use the album/compact code.
I don’t know what else to write to explain, but do you know what the problem could be?
Thanks a million!

Different code [album=#,compact] or [album id=x template=compact]
First is working, second none.
Pls, fix it.

Hi David,
thanks for your help in using the nextgen gallery plugin!
I am using it without any problem and I can tell it’s really fantastic! What I was looking for, thanks Alex.
Only one mistery for me: all my galleries are always paging ok, but one… no! It is jumping 3 position of images and then it continues paging photos… (on the third row) Why is this happening? There is no difference with the other galleries I have, and they work…! I also tried to delete and rebuilt the gallery… and it happen the same! should I give you the link?
many thnx

Hi David,
I’ve an album with many galleries, every gallery is linked to a page, and every page is tagged by Simple Tag. So, can I display in the album, under every gallery thumbnail, the page tags?
Is there other way to tag galleries and show tags in the album?
Thanks for all!

Good day,
I am looking to incorporate this into a portion of my theme with the use of [slideshow=1]. When I use input that into a post/page via the WordPress interface it displays fine.
However if I put that directly into a portion of my theme it just displays the text “[slideshow=1]” as opposed to rendering it into the the desired slide show format.
Any hints/suggestions?
Cheers,
Paul

PLEASE HELP! No I’m trying to get the album title showing on the page but nothing, I read all the posts but now I’m more confused about it, it used to work in local and now I can’t just make it work and need urgent support, I had to Update the entire website to the new 2.7.1 with the latest NG but still now stopped working.
I create a new album eg: ID1 then go manage gallery and create a new gallery ID2 > Go Album and I put the gallery ID into the ALbum ID1
put the code [album=1,extend] in the page but it only show the gallery ID2 title instead of the album title ID1! Deadline behind the door!!!
About the album Thumb: Manage Album -> Edit -> Click on the left arrow beside the Gallery Setting. From there select row Description for the drop down menu
can’t simply find this anyone with a screenshot?

Hi Dave,
I am having trouble with the album displaying correctly. I have the shortcode in, and I have two galleries out of a total three, inside the album and saved. But when I call the album on a page, it displays all three of my galleries, not just the two that are inside that album.
Any help you could give me would be appreciated.

This is a great resource for nextgen! Thank you!
Is it possible to use one installation of Nextgen and create two albums whose galleries have separate “options” (thumb size, pagination, etc.)? For example: I have already created a portfolio page for myself with a certain set of album options, and now I want to create a fun photos page with another set of album options that has pagination, different size thumbs, sort order, etc. Is this possible with NextGen?
Thank you!

HI All
Many thanks David for the tutorial.
I have managed to upload a page with an album and a gallery included. However I wondered how I could associate the gallery image with its collection of photos? I understand that I have to make a page to hold the images, which is no problem. But when I do this and publish, the gallery page with photos has its link inserted into my main navigation bar. I am stumped…. can anyone advise?
I go to Manage Gallery then to the “Page Link to:” drop down list of pages. If I have a page in this drop down list and associate it with the gallery then the page appears in my navbar…. I am most definitely doing something wrong, any advise is greatly appreciated. Oh and I am VERY new to WP…
Cheers

This site is great and helpful. Question – I have created an album (extend) and when I click on the album title or display image it does not open the album, it goes to the homepage. I have tried just putting a gallery in and everything works, but when I put the album in, it goes to the homepage. http://davidcalder.ca/?page_id=185.
Otherwise, the plugin is great and user friendly.
May 28th, 2009 at 4:51 pm
Ok, I definitely want to thank you for the tutorial. I do not like to read, but I did read each link to your site. I also noticed that you stopped replying in August 08. Do you still support the site, or did the questions become repetitive? I actually think I have a question that has not been asked yet…well, perhaps the fix is the same but I am trying to do something different. I know a few languages, but I seem to make things complicates (like a previous poster does) and word press seems more complicated than it should be, but I am gettting over the learning curve you described.
Now to my question, if you are still replying to posts:
I am using a theme with a header of 7 images that slide. When you click one of the images/topics in the header, I want it to show the gallery or page for that topic. So, I need put a link to the gallery or page from each of the individual images in the header to the correct corresponding (sp) gallery.
So, I need to know, what file or where do I insert the gallery tag link? I have been editing the header file (to change the original images) and hard code my own header title; but, I am just basically needing to link from the header topic to the correct page/gallery. Where do I do it?
I hope this finds you well..and anyone else for that matter…

I am using the extend, [album=#,extend], for my gallery page and my galleries are listed fine but when you go the individual galleries the image thumbnails are displayed twice. This has occurred since recent upgrade.

@ Terry
I am having the same issue at one of my sites. Its displaying the galleries fine but duplicated. What is the fix for this.
Thanks..
June 13th, 2009 at 9:36 am
@Terry, @successwindows
I’m also having this problem. However, only the first album listed duplicates. It doesn’t matter which album I put first, that’s the one that will duplicate. Also awaiting a fix for this!
June 13th, 2009 at 3:12 pm
@Kim
You are so right, because when I check my other albums on the site, it doesn’t duplicate. I see that they had an update today, that didnt fix it. Before that initial update, I was having duplicates in every album posted, but that fix (fixed) my issue. I’m sure once the programmers find this, they’ll patch it. How can we contact the programmers to fix this quickly. I’m getting so many calls about errors regarding this.
July 2nd, 2009 at 1:30 pm
Dave
I’m wondering if it is possible to display on album (with its thumbnail) on a page and NOT show the underlying galleries. So, for instance, I could display multiple albums (photo categories) like action that might have biking and snowboarding galleries. Currently when I insert the short code for an album ngg wants to show the underlying galleries and that, to me, defeats the advantage of having an album, or albums within albums, etc. Do you know of any workarounds for this. It has also occurred to me that I could create sub pages under my photo page that I could manually link via linked thumbnails, although that would be tedious. I’m not even sure I could do that.
Thanks
Phil

When setting up an album, by default the galleries are posted in the order created (using the assigned ID numbers), no matter which order they are dragged into the album. This is great for an interactive blog when there is a flow back and forth in real time. But on a church website, where we just want to have galleries of pictures from various events over the past 8 years, we would like them to line up in the order the event occurred, not the order we created the gallery.
Question: Can the galleries be “sorted” within an album, much as blog category links can be sorted, or images sorted within a gallery? If not, is there some way to reassign the ID numbers so the galleries line up in the desired order?
Thanks for any suggestions.
August 9th, 2009 at 11:37 am
Hi David,
I want to use my albums in compact mode. Should I put different bracket in the same line in a post? Whenever I do that, it gives me an error, or shows me in different columns. How can I use this mode to show different album in a same row?
Thanks,
Amirahmad
August 10th, 2009 at 9:41 pm
Any way to show photos in portrait instead of landscape? Have you noticed with the iPhone photos are taken both ways. Not matter what orientation the photo is on the disc when uploaded NextGEN assumes all photos are wider than taller. And they are not.
August 13th, 2009 at 4:22 am
I have the same question as Gordon. How can you set order of your albums?
August 14th, 2009 at 11:33 am
I want to use code in my sidebars rather than use a widget. Are there php code equivilants to the shortcodes? I’m working on a few sites that don’t use widgets. Everything is coded into the sidebars and I want to display a small gallery and maybe a slideshow. Anyone??
August 18th, 2009 at 7:49 am
Just stumbled across a small problem and solved it. There are some different ways the albumcode is descibed on this and Alex’s site. So, I used the code [album=5 template=compact] as seen (here: http://nextgen.boelinger.com/album/). This way the galleries were sorted in the order of uploaddate which is not what I want. When I changed the code to [album=5,compact] it took the sorting I chose myself in the “album” tab. Make sure not to put a blank after the comma, if you do that it will appear in the extend template.
BTW: Brilliant pluging!
August 23rd, 2009 at 8:02 pm
Is there a way to have only the album displayed on the page, and then once you click that you can have all the galleries on the page, and then you select the gallery?

to Chris: I would love to know that too !!!
I already reinstall NG plugin 4 times !!! cause i could not work out damn difference between gallery and album in first, then had album and shortcode problems (cause everyone tells u something different how and what to write, and it changes from new NGG ver too !!!)and on and on and on.
nextgen plugin it may be a good plugin, but there is too much reading, google-ing, searching. Its a shame there is not a “proper” support.

To Chris and B:
I too was trying to get the same results I think. This is what I did:
I found that if you do the album id=12 code, it just shows all the galleries inside that album, instead of creating an “album display” that you would then click and enter in to display all your galleries.
So I created an album just called “photos”. This is your “base album” Then, I created another album for the main album divisions I wanted. On my site refer to “2Twenty2: 2009″ Eventually there will be a “2Twenty2: 2010″. These are the top divisions.
Then I threw all my galleries from 2009 into the “2twenty2: 2009″ album.
I then dragged the “2twenty2: 2009″ album into the “photos” album. The id for my main “photos” album was 14, so in my code for my photos page, I told it to only show album id=14. This now only shows everything within that main umbrella album. This should give you the results you’re looking for. You can look to my media/photos page for an example. Hope this helps. If not let me know

How can i show an album onto a page using templates? For example, I just wanna hardcode the album view into a Template Page using something like `get_album_list();`
is this possible? and more: does it automatically open the album into the same template onto a new page?

I’m new to WP and to NextGEN. Your tutorials have been invaluable. I’m coming from using Menalto’s Gallery and until I read your intro about albums v galleries my head was not wrapping around this at all. I’m still reading and learning. My question has to do with something you said as a wish list item on this page “It would be nice if the number of galleries displayed horizontally could be specified when using compact mode rather than just relying on HTML formatting.”
SO…if I want to be able to specify the number of thumbnails in a row how & where would I do that in HTML?
Also, I found that when I respecified the thumbnail size I had to rebuild the thumbnails in the manage section. But is there a way to reset the size of the thumbnails in the Album that displays all the galleries?
Thanks so much.

Hi there,
Do you know if there is a tag or mechanism to display all galleries on a page without the gallery being in an album?
For example, at present I am allowing my users to create new galleries but currently I have the galleries associated to an album. The album is then displayed on a photo page.
i have to then I go into wordpress as administrator and manually associate the newly created gallery with the album otherwise the new gallery does not show up automatically.
Is there any way around this?
Thanks in advance,
John

to Casey:
There must some other “stuff” that you did to work this, cause its not working on mine.
To my understanding what you wrote, is:
Picture-A1.1 in Gallery-A1 in Album-2009 in Album-Photos
Picture-A1.2 in Gallery-A1 in Album-2009 in Album-Photos
Picture-A2.1 in Gallery-A2 in Album-2009 in Album-Photos
Picture-A2.2 in Gallery-A2 in Album-2009 in Album-Photos
Picture-A3.1 in Gallery-A3 in Album-2009 in Album-Photos
etc
Picture-B1.1 in Gallery-B1 in Album-2008 in Album-Photos
Picture-B2.2 in Gallery-B2 in Album-2008 in Album-Photos
etc
I don’t know what setting do you have or if you are linking galleries to pages or not.
Also, for some reason, I’m getting these paths all the time, with “nggallery” folder in it.
“http:// .com/nggallery/page-145/album-1″
“http:// .com/nggallery/page-145/album-2″
I want to have:
http:// .com/albums/2009/01
http:// .com/albums/2009/02
http:// .com/albums/2009/03
http:// .com/albums/2008/01
so when I click on albums, I could see all years, and when click on year a can see all galleries.
Honestly, after reading so much stuff about albums and galleries, I dont know which one is which, and I could not find 1 simple step by step instruction how to work with NG. Many articles are not updated with a new version of NG.
Thanks in advance

Hi, Thanks for the plugin, i have a question maybe a request:)When i display more than one gallery on a page and the visitors click one of them, they can see the images inside the gallery but cant see other galleries. They have to refresh the page to see all the galleries, that’s not user friendly i think, is it possible to show both the galleries and the images in particular gallery on a page?

Hi there, I’ve been battling with this and I can’t find a solution. What i want to achieve is view all my albums (maybe 4) in rows, however when i use the album compact code, it puts each album in a new row. I have tried changing the stylesheet, changing the width and float it left – however without success.
see here http://www.kobers.ch/fotos/
The problem is if I float it left, it looks ok on the page where i want to display all albums (if i play arounf with the post lenghth but if i then put an album in one of the posts, it looses its position.
ANY help would be awfully appreciated!!

Hi
Two related questions.
Is there a way of displaying a thumbnail of the album folder rather than it’s contents.
Also is there a way of creating sub-galleries? i.e. many levels
Thanks

Hello all,
Great plugin! Quick question: I have an album (extended template) linking to galleries. How do I make those galleries carousel? I’m not sure where to put my code [nggallery=4 template=carousel images=7]?
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Dunno if anyone’s answered Gordon/crz’s questions yet, but nggtags will handle it, e.g. I have an album with two galleries, “Autumn” and “Winter”, with “Winter” created before “Autumn”. If I write:
[ album=2,extend ]
[ nggtags album=Autumn,Winter ]
(leaving out the spaces beside the brackets, of course) then they appear in the order specified. Whee. Dawgee.
Alex Rabe’s article says this only works on compact mode, but I guess he’s changed that in the interim because it works in extend as well now.

Hello,
Thanks for the great info! Does anyone know how to set the font used for the text of an album? When viewed in Firefox, it uses the font of my theme, but in IE it changes to a different font. See link below:

Hi David
Thanks a stack for the wicked tutorials, they have been a lifesaver since I started using NextGen.
So far I have no complaints with the gallery, everything is working just fine….Except for one thing that is really bugging me and I can’t think of a solution.
I have created an Album, and within that album is one gallery, for now. I dont want to display a thumbnail for the album, but I would like to do so for the gallery. I have selected no-image for the album, but it still displays an ugly box with the alt text inside underneath the album title. I thought I could target this through CSS, but it seems the album thumbnail and the gallery thumbnail are both the same class ( .ngg-thumbnail) If you have any suggestions it would be hugely appreciated as I know my client is going to complain about this and I am out of ideas at this point.
Thanks for reading !

David-
I’m having 2 issues. I got the gallery thumbnail to show up on my page (with “extended” mode). But when I click on the thumbnail to see the images in the gallery, the images display in a weird way (hard to describe, but not in a straight row). THEN, when you click on an image, the slideshow displays half the image way to far down on the page.
Any idea why?
Here’s the link to the page: http://stonetouch.net/gallery/?preview=true&preview_id=8&preview_nonce=ac2046ca96
Thanks for any help!

can I insert two albums on the same post? can you help me?
November 25th, 2010 at 7:20 am
First of all thanks a lot David for this great tutorial!! I am so happy to browse through and implement the features.
For all those who have [Album not Found] error, please make sure you are using the correct id. My album’s id was ID2 and not just 2. When I incorrectly used “2″, it gave me an error, but using “ID2″ resolved it!

Hi there having trouble displaying more than one album on a page!
want it to look like this:
http://nextgen-gallery.com/album/
or this:
http://nextgen-gallery.com/albumtags/
Have tried many variations of:
[album=1,extend]
plus another tag with say album 2 or 3 etc and get this under the successfully displayed first album [album id="3" template="extend"]
although when I do a [album=1,extend,] with a comma after extend, I get all my galleries appearing on the same page !
Anyway how do I get more than one album on a page.
cheers

Unless I’m missing something. It would be nice for each picture in a gallery to be clickable and take you to another page. I have yet to figure out how to do this.

Hi there,
How can I totally disable the album image and album title from appearing in compact view?
Essentially, all I want it for the galleries to display in compact view. I want the galleries to be inside an album, but just the galleries must show on the page, not the thumb and title of the album. Is this possible at all>
