FallSeason WordPress Theme Update 1.2.drp.1
Published by David Potter on Oct.30, 2007
I’ve been working on another of Sadish Bala’s themes (SpotLight) for one of my sites and I’m pulling some of the work I’ve been doing there into FallSeason. This is the first update on top of v1.2, so this is v1.2.drp.1.
- Integrated Sadish’s changes for WordPress 2.3 compatibility.
- Moved the intro text to the database and added the following controls to the admin page:
- Allow the intro text to be edited online without having to touch files. This has the added benefit that files can be copied to other blogs without content going with it. All content is stored in the database.
- Allow the intro section to be displayed on every page.
- Formatted boxes evenly on the admin page.
- Added a separate style for ordered lists so that the numbers for double-digit list items will be fully displayed.
- Added support for the Cross-references plugin from Francesc Hervada-Sala.
- Display the comment number instead of the pound sign (#).
Update: October 31, 2007
I figured out the problem with the WP-Email plugin and fixed it. Download v1.2.drp.2 instead.

Hi David,
I was happy to see you pages devoted to FallSaeson theme modifications. Extremely interesting, as I have considerably tweaked this theme myself. But I’m still searching how to change it from a fluid to a fixed-width theme. Sadish Bala unfortunately doesn’t respond. Have you any leads on this?
Thanks in advance!
Regards
Martin

Changing between fluid and fixed width is a real hassle. I’ve done work on Codelog (the one used on this site) to make it fluid (my personal preference) but I haven’t tried to make Fall Season fixed. It’s certainly doable, it’s just a lot of work - and you’ll have to test out ever corner of the theme to make sure you got right plus test it out on at least the big three browsers (IE, Firefox, Safari). I still have glitches in Codelog.
Sorry I can’t be of more help.
