Overall Grade: B-
Theme URI: http://www.refueled.net/wordpress-themes Description: “Ad Clerum” is a Latin phrase which means: “To the clergy.” Perfect theme for churches or other non-profits. Free support is offered through our Forums. Version: 1.5 Author: Refueled Author URI: http://www.refueled.net Widget-aware: Yes Shows tagline: Yes Shows counts: No Hierarchical categories: Sort of
Things I like:
- Very clean look.
- Good contrast.
- Posts are separated from one another by horizontal lines so the eye is naturally drawn to the boundaries of each post.
- Graphics at the top are very attractive.
- Tagline is displayed.
- Links to pages are displayed in the header.
- Nice amount of meta information is displayed.
- Lists are displayed with markers properly.
- Blockquotes are displayed very nicely with boxes and shading.
- Hover shading over a link.
Problems:
- Hierarchical categories are not displayed correctly. Subcategories are not indented and there is too much space between the subcategory and the next non-child category.
- Text in search box is a nice touch, but if you click in it and then click away it doesn’t come back.
- Once theme is selected and displayed, the tab in IE7 will always show that icon for the home page. Navigating in a different tab/window works fine.
Things I don’t like:
- Counts are not displayed.
- I attempted to display counts with categories but they ended up being displayed on the next line which made the page look very messy.
- There is quite a bit of spaced dedicated to information that would have to be maintained independently from the standard WordPress interface (a bunch of links in the right sidebar).
- Can’t add comments to pages.
- Blogroll is not displayed by default.
